Have Questions about taking a Bakersfield College Course at the Shafter Learning Center?
English B1A - Mondays & Wednesdays from 6p-8:10p (2/18-5/13) . Course #32668
New students will need to complete the four BC matriculation steps to be eligible to register for classes which include:
- Completing the admissions application online
- Completing an orientation online or in person
- Completing an assessment placement in person (at Delano or Panorama Campus)
- Complete a Counseling-New Student Workshop (online or in person)
Tuition and Fees
If students are eligible for the Board of Governor’s fee waiver (BOGW) this will pay their tuition fees ($46/unit). Here is the link to the 2014-2015 BOGW fee waiver: https://www.bakersfieldcollege.edu/finaid
Payment is also accepted online, at the Delano Campus and at the Panorama Campus.
Eligibility for the English class is determined by the assessment placement. Students must test into level 6 to be eligible to take English B1a. They are also eligible if they are recent high school graduates and have EAP College ready on their high school transcript. Students would need to stop by the BC counseling office to get an override if they are EAP College ready but tested below level 6 on the English placement. Still not sure where to start?
