Math Field Day / by David Franz

The Kern County Superintendent of Schools Math Field Day Competition was held at Liberty High School on Saturday.  Golden Oak Elementary and Sequoia Elementary participated and did very well, together earning one first place and three second place awards.

The competition is exciting and fun and in ways that are very important, celebrating academic excellence and providing an opportunity for students to push themselves to be better.

Math competitions have many benefits.  We are looking to prepare more students in Shafter to participate in Math Field Day and other math competitions through our Problem Solving Classes.  Check them out.
